East Maui

Hana

Hana, situated at the eastern end of Maui, is a secluded and rural part of the island lost in time. Local residents, looking out on the luxurious flora and tumbling terrain, fondly call it “Heavenly Hana.” It is a fitting description.

It takes about two and a half hours to drive to the Kahului airport from Hana. There is also an airstrip in Hana, served by a commuter airline.

The Hana real estate market offers a small inventory of homes for sale.

Keanae

Keanae is rather rural, with a small number of homesteads set among taro patches. The beautiful Keanae peninsula is a generally flat tract of land jutting out northward into the ocean, which formed when lava flow from the Haleakala Crater passed through the Kaanae Valley and into the ocean.
